It's been a slow few days around our house. Lots of rain. Not so much energy. I decided it was time to do something with my babies so we attempted some banana bread. Out came the new food processor ( I figured what easier way to do a quick banana bread than to throw everything in and give it a whirl) which would have been fine if I hadn't doubled the recipe. Why not throw some math in there for Z while we baked? NOT A GREAT IDEA.
The machine bogged down and I ended up dumping it into a bowl, adding more liquid, and over mixing. I won't do that again. The result was a rubbery flat cake instead of our usual moist crumb bread.
I'm sure we'll eat it since is still tastes good but it'll have to be with a big glass of milk or a good cup of tea.
And speaking of TEA, I'm heading to Newfoundland on a vacation soon. ( a cup of tea during a visit is a must when you're in Newfoundland). H's Godmother is getting married and he and Z are going to be in the wedding party. What a great excuse to take the family home for two weeks to do some camping, see lots of interesting things, and spend time with extended family we don't get to see enough. I'll be keeping an eye out for some interesting bakeries on my way.
